The Work of God's Children

Meänkiele Rosary Prayers
This language is also known as Finnish Tornedalen, Tornedalfinska, and Meankieli.
This language is spoken by 80,000 people in northeastern Norrbotten district in Sweden. "Meänkiele" literally means "my language".  The four Gospels were recently translated into this language in the Swedish village of Pajala, which is located in the Norrbotten  district.  This is located north of the Arctic Circle.  Pajala also has the largest sundial in the world--measuring 38.33 meters in diameter.

See also The Work of God's Children page for the illustrated version of prayers in this language.

Our Father
Meän Isä, joka olet taihvaissa !
Pyhitetty olkhoon sinun nimesti.
Tulkhoon sinun valtakuntasti.
Tapahtukhoon sinun tahtosti,
niin taihvaassa ko maan päälä.
Anna meile tänäpänä jokapäivänen leipä,
ja anna meile antheeksi meän velat,
niinko mekki annama antheeksi niile,
joilta met olema saamassa.
Äläkä vie meitä frästaukshiin,
mutta pelasta meän pahasta.
Ammen.
Doxology
Ko sinun oon valtakunta ja mahti ja herraus iänkaikkisesti.
