When Jesus was presented in the Temple after 40 days, Simeon held Him in his arms and sang the "Nunc dimittis".

Nunc" di*mit"tis. [l. nunc now + dimittis thou lettest depart.] (eccl.)

Defn: The Song of Simeon (Luke 2:29-32), used in the ritual of many churches. It begins with these words in the Vulgate.

English (Liturgy of the Hours, 1975)
Lord, now you let your servant go in peace;
Your word has been fulfilled.
My eyes have seen the salvation
You have prepared in the sight of every people,
A light to reveal you to the nations and the glory of your people, Israel.

English (New Revised Standard Version, 1989):
Master, now you are dismissing your servant in peace, according to your word;
for my eyes have seen your salvation,
which you have prepared in the presence of all peoples,
a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel.

English
'Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace
According to thy word,
For mine eyes have seen thy salvation
Which thou hast prepared before the face
Of thy people Israel,
To be a light to lighten the Gentiles
And to be the glory of thy people Israel.'

Glory be to the Father
And to the Son and to the Holy Ghost,
As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be,
World without end, Amen.

Latin (Vulgate):
Nunc dimittis servum tuum, Domine, secundum verbum tuum in pace:
Quia viderunt oculi mei salutare tuum
