The Dead Appear in the Temple
(Les morts apparaissent dans le Temple)
Artist's Note: The risen dead are portrayed as spectral forms (some opaque and some translucent spiritual) who fly through the Temple precinct and throughout the city of Jerusalem. The living fear contact with the dead will defile them and hence run away. The resurrected priests are wearing the clerical garb appropriate for their rank and rise like smoke from a burnt offering on the altar of sacrifice.
