Magnificat anima mea Dominum,

Fecit potentiam in brachio suo,
dispersit superbos mente cordis sui.
Deposuit potentes de sede et exaltavit humiles;
esurientes implevit bonis et divites dimisit inanes.
Suscepit Israel puerum suum,
recordatus misericordiae,
sicut locutus est ad patres nostros,
Abraham et semini eius in saecula.

R. Thanks be to God.

All rise.
The Priest: The merciful and compassionate Lord has made a remembrance of his wondrous works. He has given food to those fearing him. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, for ever and ever. Amen.

The Priest continues: Blessed is God in His gifts, and holy in all His works, Who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
R. Amen.

The following psalm is then said by all: Praise the Lord, all nations, Praise him, all peoples. For His mercy has been confirmed upon us, and the truth of the Lord remains forever. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Lord, have mercy.

R. Amen.

V. Let us bless the Lord.
R. Thanks be to God.

Our Father... [all in silence]

V. May God grant us his peace.

Domine Iesu Christe, qui dixisti: Petite et accipietis; quaerite et invenietis;

divinissimi tui amoris affectum, ut te toto corde,
ore et opere diligamus et a tua numquam laude cessemus.
R. Amen.

Christum Dominum nostrum.
R. Amen.

+ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. R. Amen.

Lord Jesus, Who have deigned to open by Your special love the unutterable goodness and riches of Your Heart to Your Bride, the Church: grant to us, your servants, that we may merit to be enriched and refreshed by Your heavenly graces, flowing from this sweetest of fountains.
R. Amen.

V. Heart of Jesus, burning with love for us.
R. Set our hearts on fire with love of You.

O Lord Jesus Christ, who have said: Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you; mercifully attend to our supplications, and grant us the gift of Your divine charity, that we may ever love You with our whole heart and with all our words and deeds, and may never cease from praising You.
R. Amen.

(Pause here to make petitions to the Sacred Heart.)

V. O Sacred Heart of Jesus, most obedient to the will of the Father.
R. Incline our hearts to You, that we may do always what is pleasing to You.

O divine Heart of Jesus, grant, we pray You, eternal rest to the souls in purgatory, final grace to those who are about to die, true repentance to sinners, the light of faith to non-Christians, and Your blessing to us and all who are dear to us. To You, therefore, we commend all these souls, and in their behalf we offer unto You all the merits of Your Sacred Heart.
R. Amen.

V. O Sacred Heart of Jesus, thirsting for our salvation.
R. Recall us sinners to Your Heart, that we may not die in our sins.

Let us pray.
O God, Who deign mercifully to bestow upon us the infinite treasures of love in the Heart of Your Son, which was wounded for our sins; grant, we beseech You, that we who pay Him the devout homage of our piety may in like manner show unto You our due of worthy satisfaction. Through the same Christ our Lord.

NOVENA AD BEATAM MARIAM VIRGINEM / Novena to the Blessed Virgin Mary

BEATAM MARIAM VIRGINEM
Blessed Virgin Mary

+ In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. R. Amen.

Sub tuum praesidium confugimus, sancta Dei Genetrix; nostras deprecationes ne despicias in necessitatibus nostris, sed a periculis cunctis libera nos semper, Virgo gloriosa et benedicta.
R. Amen.

V. Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum.

R. Amen.

V. Benedicta tu in mulieribus.
R. Et benedictus fructus ventris tui.

R. Amen.

(Hic morare ad Beatam Mariam Virginem petendam)

V. O Maria, sine labe concepta,

Oremus.
R. Amen.

+ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
R. Amen.

We fly to your patronage, O holy Mother of God; despise not our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin.

V. Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you.
R. You have brought forth Him who made you, and ever remain a virgin.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, we fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins and Mother; to you do we come; before you we stand, sinful and sorrowful; O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not our petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer us.
R. Amen.

V. Blessed are you among women.
R. And blessed is the fruit of your womb.

O pure and immaculate and likewise blessed Virgin, who are the sinless mother of your Son, the mighty Lord of the universe, you who are inviolate and altogether holy, the hope of the hopeless and sinful, we sing your praises.
We bless you as full of every grace, you who bore the God-Man: we all bow low before you; we invoke you and implore your aid. R. Amen.

(Pause here to make petitions to the Blessed Virgin Mary)

V. O Mary, conceived without sin,
R. Pray for us who have recourse to you.

Let us pray.
Holy Mary, succour the miserable, help the faint-hearted, comfort the sorrowful, pray for the people, plead for the clergy, intercede for all women consecrated to God; may all who keep your holy commemoration feel now your help and protection. Be ever ready to assist us when we pray, and bring back to us the answers to our prayers.
Make it your continual care to pray for the people of God, you who, blessed by God, merited to bear the Redeemer of the world, who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
R. Amen.

PSALMUS 129: DE PROFUNDIS / Psalm 129

De profundis clamavi ad te, Domine:
Domine, exaudi vocem meam:
Fiant aures tuae intendentes,
in vocem deprecationis meae.
Si iniquitates observaveris, Domine:
Domine, quis sustinebit?
Quia apud te propitiatio est:
et propter legem tuam sustinui te, Domine.
Sustinuit anima mea in verbo eius:
speravit anima mea in Domino.
A custodia matutina usque ad noctem:
speret Israel in Domino.
Quia apud Dominum misericordia:
et copiosa apud eum redemptio.
Et ipse redimet Israel,
ex omnibus iniquitatibus eius.
Gloria Patri, et Filio,
et Spiritui Sancto.
Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper,
et in saecula saeculorum. Amen.

Out of the depths I have cried to Thee, O Lord: *
Lord, hear my voice.
Let Thy ears be attentive * to the voice of my supplication.
If Thou, O Lord, wilt mark iniquities: * Lord, who shall stand it?
For with Thee there is merciful forgiveness: * and by reason of thy law, I have waited for Thee, O Lord.
My soul hath relied on His word, * my soul hath hoped in the Lord.
From the morning watch even until night, * let Israel hope in the Lord.
Because with the Lord there is mercy: and with him plentiful redemption.
And he shall redeem Israel * from all his iniquities.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son, * and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, * world without end. Amen.

have mercy on us;
you are seated at the right hand of the Father:
receive our prayer.
For you alone are the Holy One,
you alone are the Lord,
you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ,
with the Holy Spirit,
in the glory of God the Father. Amen.

Symbolum Nicenum / The Nicene Creed

Credo in unum Deum,
genitum non factum, consubstantialem Patri;
Confiteor unum baptisma in remissionem peccatorum.
Et expecto resurrectionem mortuorum,
et vitam venturi saeculi. Amen.

Symbolon Quicumque / The Athanasian Creed

Qualis Pater, talis Filius, talis Spiritus Sanctus. Increatus Pater, increatus Filius, increatus Spiritus Sanctus.
Immensus Pater, immensus Filius, immensus Spiritus Sanctus.
Aeternus Pater, aeternus Filius, aeternus Spiritus Sanctus.
Similiter omnipotens Pater, omnipotens Filius, omnipotens Spiritus Sanctus.
Aequalis Patri secundum divinitatem: minor Patre secundum humanitatem.
Amen.

Hymns

O Salutaris Hostia / O Saving Victim

O salutaris Hostia,
Quae caeli pandis ostium:
Bella premunt hostilia,
Da robur, fer auxilium.
Uni trinoque Domino
Sit sempiterna gloria,
Qui vitam sine termino
Nobis donet in patria.
Amen.

(Literal Translation:)
O salutary Victim,
Who expandest the door of the sky,
Hostile wars press.
Give strength; bear aid.
To the Lord One in Three,
May there be sempiternal glory;
for life without end
he gives to us in our homeland.
Amen.

(Verse Rendering:)
O saving Victim, opening wide
The gate of Heaven to us below;
Our foes press hard on every side;
Your aid supply; Your strength bestow.
To your great name be endless praise,
Immortal Godhead, One in Three.
O grant us endless length of days,
In our true native land with thee.
Amen.

Tantum Ergo Sacramentum / Down in Adoration Falling

Tantum ergo Sacramentum
Veneremur cernui:
Et antiquum documentum
Novo cedat ritui:
Praestet fides supplementum
Sensuum defectui.

Genitori, Genitoque
Laus et jubilatio,
Salus, honor, virtus quoque
Sit et benedictio:
Procedenti ab utroque
Compar sit laudatio.
Amen.

V. Panem de caelis praestitisti eis.(T.P. Alleluja)
R. Omne delectamentum in se habentem.(T.P. Alleluja)

Oremus: Deus, qui nobis sub sacramento mirabili, passionis tuae memoriam reliquisti: tribue, quaesumus, ita nos corporis et sanguinis tui sacra mysteria venerari, ut redemptionis tuae fructum in nobis iugiter sentiamus. Qui vivis et regnas in saecula saeculorum.
R. Amen.

Down in adoration falling,
Lo! the sacred Host we hail,
Lo! o'er ancient forms departing
Newer rites of grace prevail;
Faith for all defects supplying,
Where the feeble senses fail.

To the everlasting Father,
And the Son Who reigns on high
With the Holy Ghost proceeding
Forth from Each eternally,
Be salvation, honor, blessing,
Might and endless majesty.
Amen.

V. Thou hast given them bread from heaven.
R. Having within it all Sweetness.

V. Let us pray: O God, who in this wonderful Sacrament left us a memorial of Thy Passion: grant, we implore Thee, that we may so venerate the sacred mysteries of Thy Body and Blood, as always to be conscious of the fruit of Thy Redemption. Thou who livest and reignest forever and ever.
R. Amen.

Silens Nox, Sacra Nox / Silent Night / Stille Nacht

Luke 2:1-20

Silens Nox, Sacra Nox
Sancta Nox, Placida Nox
Alma Nox

Silent Night

Silens Nox, sacra nox,
Omne est lux, omne est pax,
Circum matrum et puerum,
Infans sacer, O beate,
Dormi in pace quieta.

Silens Nox, sacra nox,
Pastores nunc adorant.
Gloriae ex stellis veniunt,
Angeli "Alleluiah" cantant.
Christus Salvator adest.

Sancta Nox, Placida Nox / Silent Night / Stille Nacht

1. Sancta nox, placida nox!
Nusquam est ulla vox;
Par sanctissimum vigilat,
Crispo crine quieti se dat
Puer dulcissimus,
Puer dulcissimus.

2. Sancta nox, placida nox!
Certior fit pastor mox
Angelorum alleluia;
Sonat voce clarissima
Iesus salvator adest,
Iesus salvator adest.

3. Sancta nox, placida nox!
Nate Dei, suavis vox
Manat ex ore sanctissimo,
Cum is nobis auxilio,
Christe, natalibus,
Christe, natalibus.

Alma Nox / Silent Night / Stille Nacht

Alma nox, tacita nox!
Omnium silet vox;
Sola virgo nune beatum
Ulnis fovet dulcem natum.
Pax tibi, puer, pax!
Pax tibi, puer, pax!

Stabat Mater

Stabat Mater dolorósa
iuxta crucem lacrimósa,
dum pendébat Fílius.

Cuius ánimam geméntem,
contristátam et doléntem
pertransívit gládius.

O quam tristis et afflícta
fuit illa benedícta,
mater Unigéniti!

Quae moerébat et dolébat,
pia Mater, dum vidébat
Nati poenas íncliti.

Quis est homo qui non fleret,
Matrem Christi si vidéret
in tanto supplício?

Quis non posset contristári,
piam Matrem contemplári
doléntem cum Fílio?

Pro peccátis suae gentis
vidit Iesum in torméntis,
et flagéllis súbditum.

Vidit suum dulcem Natum
moriéndo desolátum,
dum emísit spíritum.

Eia, Mater, fons amóris
me sentíre vim dolóris,
fac ut tecum lúgeam.

Fac ut árdeat cor meum
in amándo Christum Deum,
ut sibi compláceam.

Sancta Mater, istud agas,
Crucifíxi fige plagas
cordi meo válide.

Tui Nati vulneráti,
tam dignáti pro me pati,
poenas mecum dívide.

Fac me tecum pie flere,
Crucifíxo condolére,
donec ego víxero.

Iuxta crucem tecum stare,
fac me tibi sociáre
in planctu desídero.

Virgo vírginum praeclára,
mihi iam non sis amára,
fac me tecum plángere.

Fac ut portem Christi mortem,
passiónis fac me sortem,
et plagas recólere.

Fac me plagis vulnerári,
fac me cruce inebriári,
et cruóre Filii.

Flammis ne urar succénsus,
per te, Virgo, sim defénsus
in die iudícii.

Fac me cruce custodíri,
morte Christi praemuníri,
confovéri grátia.

Quando corpus moriétur,
fac ut ánimae donétur
Paradísi glória. Amen.

Adeste, Fideles

Angel appears to Shepherds on Christmas.jpg

Adeste, fideles, laeti triumphantes:
Venite, venite in Bethlem:
Natum videte Regem Angelorum.
Venite, adoremus. Venite, adoremus.
Venite, adoremus Dominum.

En grege relicto, humiles ad cunas
Vocati pastores approperant:
Et nos ovanti gradu festinemus:
Venite, adoremus. Venite, adoremus.
Venite, adoremus Dominum.

Aeterni Parentis splendorem aeternum
Velatum sub carne videbimus.
Deum infantem pannis involutum.
Venite, adoremus. Venite, adoremus.
Venite, adoremus Dominum.

Pro nobis egenum, et foeno cubantem
Piis foveamus amplexibus:
Sic nos amantem quis non redamaret ?
Venite, adoremus. Venite, adoremus.
Venite, adoremus Dominum.

Qui foeno iacebat panis speciebus,
Pro nobis effectus Emmanuel.
Sic nos amantem, quis non redamaret?
Venite, adoremus. Venite, adoremus.
Venite, adoremus Dominum.

Te Deum

Te Deum laudamus:
te Dominum confitemur.
Te aeternum Patrem
omnis terra veneratur.
Tibi omnes Angeli;
tibi caeli et universae Potestates;
Tibi Cherubim et Seraphim
incessabili voce proclamant:
Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus,
Dominus Deus Sabaoth.
Pleni sunt caeli et terra
maiestatis gloriae tuae.
Te gloriosus Apostolorum chorus,
Te Prophetarum laudabilis numerus,
Te Martyrum candidatus laudat exercitus.
Te per orbem terrarum
sancta confitetur Ecclesia,
Patrem immensae maiestatis:
Venerandum tuum verum et unicum Filium;
Sanctum quoque Paraclitum Spiritum.
Tu Rex gloriae, Christe.
Tu Patris sempiternus es Filius.
Tu ad liberandum suscepturus hominem,
non horruisti Virginis uterum.
Tu, devicto mortis aculeo,
aperuisti credentibus regna caelorum.
Tu ad dexteram Dei sedes, in gloria Patris.
Iudex crederis esse venturus.
Te ergo quaesumus, tuis famulis subveni:
quos pretioso sanguine redemisti.
Aeterna fac cum sanctis tuis in gloria numerari.
Salvum fac populum tuum, Domine, et benedic hereditati tuae.
Et rege eos, et extolle illos usque in aeternum.
Per singulos dies benedicimus te;
Et laudamus Nomen tuum in saeculum, et in saeculum saeculi.
Dignare, Domine, die isto sine peccato nos custodire.
Miserere nostri domine, miserere nostri.
Fiat misericordia tua, Domine, super nos,
quemadmodum speravimus in te.
In te, Domine, speravi:
non confundar in aeternum.

We praise thee, O God:
we acknowledge thee to be the Lord.
All the earth doth worship thee:
the Father everlasting.
To thee all Angels cry aloud:
the Heavens, and all the Powers therein.
To thee Cherubin and Seraphin:
continually do cry,
Holy, Holy, Holy :
Lord God of Sabaoth;
Heaven and earth are full of the Majesty:
of thy glory.
The glorious company of the Apostles: praise thee.
The goodly fellowship of the Prophets: praise thee.
The noble army of Martyrs : praise thee.
The holy Church throughout all the world:
doth acknowledge thee;
The Father: of an infinite Majesty;
Thine honourable, true: and only Son;
Also the Holy Ghost: the Comforter.
Thou art the King of Glory: O Christ.
Thou art the everlasting Son: of the Father.
When thou tookest upon thee to deliver man:
thou didst not abhor the Virgin's womb.
When thou hadst overcome the sharpness of death:
thou didst open the Kingdom of Heaven to all believers.
Thou sittest at the right hand of God: in the glory of the Father.
We believe that thou shalt come: to be our Judge.
We therefore pray thee, help thy servants:
whom thou hast redeemed with thy precious blood.
Make them to be numbered with thy Saints: in glory everlasting.
O Lord, save thy people:
and bless thine heritage.
Govern them: and lift them up for ever.
Day by day: we magnify thee;
And we worship thy Name: ever world without end.
Vouchsafe, O Lord: to keep us this day without sin.
O Lord, have mercy upon us: have mercy upon us.
O Lord, let thy mercy lighten upon us:
as our trust is in thee.
O Lord, in thee have I trusted:
let me never be confounded.
